A Lesson From God's First Lifeboat. Series

According to Genesis 16 many countless eons ago, as the wickedness of humanity began to increase on the earth, the LORD said, “My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal. His days will be a hundred and twenty years.” During this early point, much like today, humanity did not care that God saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become. Every hour of every day, the world became consumed by the evil inclinations and immoral thoughts of man’s heart. On that very sad day, God became grieved that he had made and placed man on the earth.

Moreover, once again just like before in the garden of humanities beginnings, man broke the heart of God. Sadly, for the first time in our short history, God said as His broken heart filled with pain. “I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth for I am grieved that I have made them.” Still, Noah found favor in the eyes of God and God made an exception to His royal decree. Because Noah was a righteous man and blameless among the people of his time, his life walk with God saved not only himself; his life walk with God saved the lives of his three sons as well simply because Noah did everything just as God commanded him. Because of Noah's life walk, God provided Noah with the blueprints to the very first lifeboat.

My dear brothers and sisters take these words from James 1: 19-27 and check your walk with God. Checkpoint 1: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry because our anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. Checkpoint 2: Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. Checkpoint 3: Do not merely listen to the word, and deceive yourselves. You must do what it says. Moreover, anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror.

My point is because of God's Spoken Word, God has dressed us in the righteousness of Christ. By the Word of God we were chosen to be the sons and daughters of God. Now, God's Word will not return to Him void and will accomplish what He was sent out to do. My point is God knows that we heard what He called out to us by His Word. The reason why we sometimes fail to become what God calls us by His Word to become is we forget the Word of God told us that we are the sons and daughters chosen by God. When we forget who we really are, we cannot to do the work of God we are sent to do. My point is in these last days, we cannot keep hearing the commands from God and yet not do them.

Although, modern humanity, like in Noah's days, continue to suffer from spiritual amnesia, those of us who are constantly hearing the Word of God cannot continue to go away only to forget that we are the sons and daughters of God. My point is as the men and women chosen by God, our life walk is the only bible some people will read. On this crowded and wide road of life, please remember there will always someone looking at us. They are following our life walk as we travel toward the straight and narrow path that leads to the household of God. Often, during their life walk, their soul salvation will depend on them watching God deliver us just so they will not miss the life boat. So, have you checked your walk with God? I hope you know someone out there is depending on your life walk to lead them to the life boat.
