Summary: Jesus came to seek and save sinners!! We have heard the joyful sound: Jesus Saves! Jesus Saves! Spread the tiding around: Jesus Saves! Jesus Saves! Bear the news to every land; Climb the steps and cross the waves. Onward! Tis our Lord’s command.
Faithful Saying-Paul is going to be giving his young preacher boys some topics that they should preach on, these topics had been and should be preached on time and time again, so much they had become sayings, just like we have sayings.
First Saying-2 Timothy 2:11-14-This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him. If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.
Remind them of these things
If the light company, told you not to worry, your lights wouldn’t be cut off and HEB called and said, when you needed groceries just come and get them, and Wal-Mart and said when you need clothes, just come and get them….We would be beside our self because someone is going to take of us, but the truth is that would be just man’s promises, but we have someone greater than that who has promised to take care of us!!
Second Saying-1 Timothy 1:15-This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.
Luke 19:10-for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Mark 2:17-When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
John 8:36-Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
Not The Found, But The Lost.
Not The Righteous, But The Ungodly.
Not The Well, But The Sick.
Not The Free, But The Bound.
Isn’t Christianity a crutch? Yes, it is! But that’s ok if your crippled and we all are!
The ones who go to a doctor are the ones who are sick (or a hypochondriac…A hypochondriac went to a doctor and burst into tears. "I'm certain I've got liver disease, and I'm going to die from it." "That's ridiculous," said the doctor. "You wouldn't even know if you had liver disease or not. There's no discomfort of any kind with that ailment." "That's right!" said the hypochondriac. "And those are my exact symptoms!") and sometimes we are really sick before we go, but never the less we recognize we need a doctor before we get better, before we get healed!
Romans 3:23-for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
All have sinned, not some have sinned, not a select group has sinned, it says, “For all have sinned!!!
He Came To Save Sinners…It’s nice that He came to heal the sick, to raise the dead, to teach us how to live, but His main purpose…Was and is…To Save Sinners!
Our job, our priority is to witness to the lost and pray for the lost and in doing so we are helping Jesus in seeking and saving sinners!
The young preacher told the older preacher, “No one walks the aisle when the invitation is given.” The old preacher said, “Did you really expect any one to?” The young preacher responded, “No, not really.” The old preacher said, “That’s the problem!”
When is the last time you prayed for someone to be saved?
The Bible gives example after example about people praying and then people came to know the Lord as their Savior!
At Pentecost they were praying in the upper room and three thousand souls were saved!
Peter is praying and then Cornelius, a centurion gets saved
At midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God and a great earthquake shook the jail and the jailer came running and fell down before them and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And he did, but not only him but his whole family.
Jesus came to seek and save sinners!!
We have heard the joyful sound: Jesus Saves! Jesus Saves!
Spread the tiding around: Jesus Saves! Jesus Saves!
Bear the news to every land; Climb the steps and cross the waves.
Onward! Tis our Lord’s command. Jesus Saves! Jesus Saves!
Now Christian will you pray, as we give the invitation?
