Contributed by Christopher Holdsworth on Dec 30, 2014 (message contributor)
Summary: A Communion for the New Year.
THE FELLOWSHIP OF PARTICIPATION.
1 Corinthians 10:16-21.
1. We have fellowship in the cup,
which is a sharing in the benefits of the blood of Christ
(1 Corinthians 10:16);
2. We have fellowship in the breaking of bread,
which represents His broken body
(1 Corinthians 10:16).
3. We who are members of His body are partners with the Lord
as we partake of the one bread
(1 Corinthians 10:17);
4. Like Israel of old,
we become active partners in the altar
(1 Corinthians 10:18).
5. Partaking of the Lord’s table
(1 Corinthians 10:21)
is set in contrast with having fellowship with demons
(1 Corinthians 10:20).
