Summary: A Divinely Founded House
Psalm 127 - 1. A Divinely Founded House 1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it 1) God Must Build His House Mt 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 2) God Must Bless His House II. A Divinely Fortified House - 1 Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain Ps. 34:7 “The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them” 1) The Will of God is Sought (Prayer) 2) The Word of God is Taught (Bible) 3) The Work of God is Wrought (Filling of the Spirit) Eph 5:17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. 18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; III. A Divinely Furnished House - 2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
1) The Holy Enchantment of the House 2) The Happy Contentment of the House Heb. 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. “Where Jesus is, ‘tis heaven there.” 3) The Healthy Refreshment of the House 2 “for so He giveth his beloved sleep” IV. A Divinely Favoured House 3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. 1) The Desirability of Parenthood 1 Sam 1:27 (Hannah) For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him: 2) The Responsibility of Parenthood 4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. 5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate. The flight, direction and effect of an arrow depend on the way it is produced, polished, pointed & poised
