Message Point: We must chose a life of holiness.
Focus Passage: Ephesians 4:1-3
Introduction:
I. The way you live has nothing to do with the way you were saved.
a. For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
II. The way we walk is quickly and easily seen in the way we treat other people.
a. Mat 5:16 "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
III. The way you walk is completely up to you.
a. Gal 5:16-17 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.
b. Rom 8:5 For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
c. Rom 12:1-2 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
