This sermon explores God's steadfast love, the rewards of faithfulness, and the transformative power of deepening our knowledge and relationship with God.

Introduction

Welcome, beloved congregation, to this blessed gathering where we seek to bask in the divine radiance of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We are here, not as mere spectators, but as active participants in this grand symphony of faith, hope, and love. We are here to draw from the wells of God's wisdom, to be nourished by His word, and to experience the transcendent joy of His presence.

As we gather under the banner of His love, we turn our hearts and minds to the profound words of the prophet Malachi, nestled in the third chapter, verses sixteen through eighteen of his book.

In this passage, we find a comforting reassurance of God's steadfast love, a promise of rewards from our Heavenly Father, and a call to deepen our knowledge of Him. These are the main points we will focus on today - the Manifestation of God's Love, Marking the Rewards from God, and Mastering the Knowledge of God.

Charles Spurgeon, the Prince of Preachers, once said, "The most excellent study for expanding the soul, is the science of Christ, and Him crucified, and the knowledge of the Godhead in the glorious Trinity." This profound statement encapsulates the essence of our Christian walk. Knowing God is not a mere intellectual exercise, but it's the very lifeblood of our existence. It's a transformative experience that shapes our identity, dictates our values, and directs our paths.

Let us pray.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the privilege of gathering in Your name. We thank You for Your Word, which is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. As we meditate on the Scriptures today, we ask that You open our hearts and minds to receive Your truth. Illuminate our understanding, deepen our faith, and draw us closer to You. In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.

God's Love

When we turn our gaze to the Scriptures, we find the love of God woven into every verse, every story, every commandment, and every promise. This love that reaches out to us, even when we're far from Him. It's a love that is not based on our worthiness, but on His grace and mercy.

In the book of Malachi, we see God's love manifested in His attentiveness to His people. The Scriptures tell us that God paid attention and heard the conversations of those who feared Him. This is a God who is intimately involved in the lives of His people. He listens to our words, He understands our fears, and He values our reverence for Him. This is a God who is not just a distant deity, but a personal and loving Father.

The love of God is also manifested in His commitment to remember His people. The Scriptures tell us that a book of remembrance was written before Him of those who feared the Lord and esteemed His name. This is a God who remembers our faithfulness, our devotion, our reverence. He cherishes our love for Him and records it in His book of remembrance. This is a God who values His relationship with His people and honors their commitment to Him.

Furthermore, God promised to make His people His treasured possession. The Scriptures tell us that God said, 'They shall be mine, in the day when I make up my treasured possession.' This is a God who is not just a mighty King, but a loving Father who takes delight in His children.

Finally, God's love is manifested in His promise to spare His people. The Scriptures tell us that God said, 'I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.' This is a God who is merciful and compassionate. He promises to spare His people, to protect them, to preserve them. This is a God who is not just a righteous Judge, but a loving Father who cares deeply for His children.
