Summary: In a world where people’s opinions and actions can be unpredictable and hurtful, it’s easy to get distracted and lose focus on what truly matters.

As believers, we must remember to take our eyes off people and keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.

The Bible reminds us in Hebrews 12:2, "Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

The Dangers of Fixating on People

When we focus too much on people, we can become disillusioned and discouraged. We may start to idolize others, expecting them to meet our needs and fulfill our expectations. But people will always fail us, and we will always fail others. Only Jesus can meet our deepest needs and provide us with unconditional love and acceptance.

The Benefits of Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus

On the other hand, when we fix our eyes on Jesus, we experience numerous benefits:

- We find joy and strength in the midst of trials (Hebrews 12:2)

- We are transformed into His likeness (2 Corinthians 3:18)

- We receive grace and mercy in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16)

- We are empowered to live a life of obedience and service (John 15:5)

Let us take our eyes off of people and fix them on Jesus, the one who loves us unconditionally and perfectly. As we gaze upon His majesty and grace, may we be transformed into His image and live a life that honors Him.

"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." (Hebrews 12:2)

- "I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken." (Psalm 16:8)

- "My eyes are ever on the Lord, for only he will release my feet from the snare." (Psalm 25:15)

- "Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always." (Psalm 105:4)

- "Jesus is the same yesterday and today and forever." (Hebrews 13:8)

- "We do not look at what can be seen, but at what cannot be seen; for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:18)

- "I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me." (Philippians 3:12)

Remember, fixing our eyes on Jesus is a daily choice. May we continue to seek Him and find our strength and hope in Him alone.
