8 Nature Of Man – Soul: Emotions – Aid Is Every Thought Captive To Christ (The Word) Series

Sin (and iniquity) is the disease all men experience.

The symptoms of that disease in the emotions are summarized as the destructive emotion of anger. Anger and other destructive emotional attitudes can keep us separated from God.

The problem (from Session 7):

Feelings are the conscious experience of emotional reactions. Feelings are sparked by emotions and shaped by personal experiences, beliefs, memories, and thoughts linked to that particular emotion. Strictly speaking, a feeling is the side product of your brain perceiving an emotion and assigning a certain meaning to it [a belief].

The Solution:

When we acknowledge our destructive emotion(s) and identify why they result in destructive thoughts/words/deeds; we find a stronghold (false belief) will be the root of the emotional response.

When you receive this understanding, then there is an answer to being conformed to the image of Christ!

Ask the Lord for the truth(scripture) that applies to that situation and repent of the lie you have believed; and declare and embed the truth in your mind (meditate until it is real and alive and governs your response)!

Then, the next time such an emotion is triggered you are able to respond according to truth and not according to a stronghold. And practice makes progress!

Summarize:

We seek the Lord for the truth that will dispel that stronghold or false belief we have always acted on.

We believe the truth which takes away the impulse/need/desire to respond to the false belief.

We take that false belief captive with the truth of the Word!

Psm 119:165

Those who love Your law have great peace, And nothing causes them to stumble.

2 Corinthians 10:5

We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,

Last time you reevaluated your rating of the degree this hindrance plays in your life.

Time to start relying on the Spirit to develop Love!

A 3 or 4 self-rating indicates you have an ongoing effort in developing Love.

FATHER, I THANK YOU THAT....

I am God's child, for I am born again of the INCORRUPTIBLE SEED OF THE WORD OF GOD which lives and abides FOREVER.

I am more than a CONQUEROR, joint heirs with CHRIST.

I am crucified with CHRIST and it’s no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.

I am alive in Christ and free from condemnation, reconciled to God and qualified to share in His inheritance.

I am rooted, built up, established in my faith and overflowing with gratitude.

I have been circumcised with the circumcision made without hands.

I am a fellow citizen with the saints and of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, JESUS CHRIST,Himself, being the CHIEF CORNERSTONE.

I am born of God and the evil one does not touch me.

I am His faithful follower, overtaken with blessings, and His disciple because I have love for others.

I am the light of the world and the salt of the earth.

I am the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD, a partaker of HIS DIVINE NATURE.

I am called of GOD, the first fruit among His creation, CHOSEN.

I am an AMBASSADOR OF CHRIST, God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus for the good works.

I am the apple of my FATHER'S EYE.

I am HEALED by the stripes of JESUS.

I am being changed into HIS image, raised up with Christ and seated in HEAVENLY PLACES.

I am beloved of GOD, one in Christ.

I have the MIND OF CHRIST, I have obtained an inheritance.

I have access by one SPIRIT unto the Father and I overcome the world.

I have everlasting life and will not be condemned, and the PEACE of GOD which passes understanding is mine.
