Summary: I may not have the same temptations as you have, that what the devil tempts me with, may not be what he tempts you with, but the attraction, the pull is just as intense as the temptation that your dealing with.
Matthew 6:9-13-In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
And Do Not Lead Us Into Temptation, But Deliver Us From The Evil One.
1 Corinthians 10:13-No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
No Temptation Has Overtaken You Except Such As Is Common To Man-Many times ourselves or other will make the claim, or at least give the impression that our situation is different than anybody else’s.
That pull of our addiction, our temptation is stronger than anybody else’s.
But the truth is, it is not!
I may not have the same temptations as you have, that what the devil tempts me with, may not be what he tempts you with, but the attraction, the pull is just as intense as the temptation that your dealing with.
But God Is Faithful, Who Will Not Allow You To Be Tempted Beyond What You Are Able-When can never stand before God and say, “I was not able to overcome my temptations, because they were so intense, so powerful, that I was overcome by them!”
The reason we can’t say this because in all honesty, the reason we give into temptation, is because we wanted to, not because we had to!!
But With The Temptation Will Also Make The Way Of Escape, That You May Be Able To Bear It-There is always a way out of the temptation but we have to looking for it, we have seeking it, we have to recognizing it!
Not allow ourselves to be alone with someone, specially if we are attracted to them.
Not allow ourselves to go to places, where we will be tempted.
Not allow ourselves to be in situations, where we will be tempted.
And if we do find ourselves in any of those situations, we must do what the Bible says to do in those situations…FLEE
1 Corinthians 6:18-Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
1 Corinthians 10:14-Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
1 Timothy 6:10-11-For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.
2 Timothy 2:22-Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Remember, when Potiphar’s wife tempted Joseph to sleep with her….that she caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me.” But he left his garment in her hand, and fled and ran outside. (Genesis 39:12)
He left his coat but keep his integrity!!
But Deliver Us From The Evil One.
James 1:14-15-But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.
Drawn Away By His Own Desires And Enticed-When you fish, you use the right kind of bait and the right kind of bait can make the difference between a empty hook or supper for that night.
The evil one only use bait that is tempting!
Pleasant to the 5 senses…Touch, sight, taste, smell, hearing.
When deer hunters going hunting a deer, a lot times they will put a feeder and the deer gets use to going to that feeder and being feed, it has know idea that it is being lured out in to the open, away from the safety of the trees and shrubs, so that the deer hunter can have a clear shot.
James 4:7-Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Submit-yield: to accept somebody else's authority or will, especially reluctantly or under pressure.
Submitting to God means that you are letting Him have control over body, over your desires, over your wants…Not my will, but Thy will be done!!
