5 SIGNS OF REVIVAL

I. Jesus is exalted!

John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

A. New believer giving the poem ‘Twinkle twinkle little star.’ Caused harden men to be saved. They saw Jesus in her face.

B. Jesus exalted brings healing. He took our sickness.

John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

II. There will be attacks by the Power of Darkness!

Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

A. We are to protect ourselves.

Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

B. Do no be afraid!

1 Pet 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

1. Jesus pulled the devil’s teeth, he just roars now.

III. Emphasis on the Word!

A. The Word has power.

1 Thes 1:5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. .

B. His Word brings peace when He is Lord.

Acts 10:36 The word which God sent unto the children of

Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:

C. Preach Jesus!

1 Cor 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

D. Preach with boldness!

Acts 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken

where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

E. Take it everywhere!

Acts 8:4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word. .

F. The Word will GROW!

Acts 12:24 But the word of God grew and multiplied.

G. It will encourage the brethren.

Acts 15:36 And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.

H. It is for the home.

Acts 16:32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord and to all that were in his house. .

I. The Holy Spirit puts it in our heart and mouth.

Romans 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; .

J. It brings reconciliation!

2 Cor 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

K. It teaches, admonishes and puts a song in your heart.

Col 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

1. Talk to yourself, not only old people talk to themselves but Spirit filled people do too.

IV. Sound Doctrine!

A. The world wants perverted doctrine.

1 Tim 1:10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

B. Sound Doctrine makes a good minister.

1 Tim 4:6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

C. Reading the Word helps us with sound doctrine and preaching.

1 Tim 4:13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. .

D. It brings salvation.

1 Tim 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

E. The way to win the hard ones.

Titus 1:9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

V. Promote Love to God and to Man!

Matt 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
