Cover Your Head Series

Introduction:

A. There is a helmet law in God’s kingdom.

B. The world seems to be full of people who have lost there heads.

C. Salvation covers our thoughts, decisions, and emotions.

1. Salvation

a. Salvation is deliverance and preservation.

b. Planned and established by God, we were the offenders, but God facilitated our hope.

1. "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us": (Romans 5:8).

2. "The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord" (Psalm 37:39).

3. Surely God is my salvation;I will trust and not be afraid" (Isaiah 12:2).

c. God has set the terms of salvation:

1. They are not open for negotiation or change.

2. It is not a plan of multiple choice where we obey three out of five.

3. Every command s for our good even though we m ay not be able to see it.

4. Obedience is the key.

d.We are saved from:

1. Sin to righteousness.

2. Rebellion to obedience.

3. Death to life.

4. Loneliness to the family of God.

5. A severed relationship with God to being a Child of God.

e. The Bible is the only guidebook to reveal the terms of pardon for a new life.

2. Models:

a. Pentacost (Acts 2).

1. Peter preached Christ.

2. Many believed and were convicted.

3. They were told to repent and be baptized, and those who gladly received the word were baptized and abou 3,000 souls were added to the Church by the Lord.

b. Ethiopian Eunuch (Acts 8:34-39).

1. The Eunuch was riding along in his chariot reading the 53rd chapter of Isaiah.

2. He asked Philip who Isaiah was talking about. Philip began at that same Scripture text and preached to him Jesus.

3. In preaching Jesus, He must have talked Baptism.

4. For when the Eunuch saw a body of water, He asked what would hinder him from being baptized.

5. He did not join that church because there was no local body to join. Obviously, the church did not vote on him because there was no one present to vote.

6. They both went down into the water and Philip baptized Him.

7. He went on His way rejoicing. Joy always follows obedience: Christ was central: He heard about Christ; Believed in Christ; Confessed His faith in Christ; and was baptized into CHrist.

3. Without the Helmet it is confusing:

a. "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being, It is the power of God." (Corinthians 1:18).

b. It takes commitment to wear the helmet of salvation.

1. "I Consider everything a loss compared to surpassing, greatness of knowing Christ Jesuis my Lord. (Philippians 3:8).

2. "I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me (Philippians 3:12).

3. We must be careful; There is no other way of escape.
