Do I Have A Spiritual Gift? Every Christian has a spiritual gift.

- 1 Corinthians 12:4-7.

Church Leadership:

1. Preaching (a.k.a. prophecy).

- Romans 12:6; 1 Corinthians 12:10, 28; Ephesians 4:11; 1 Peter 4:11.

- The ability to publicly proclaim God’s Word.

2. Teaching.

- Romans 12:7; 1 Corinthians 12:28; Ephesians 4:11; 1 Peter 4:11.

- The ability to educate God’s people by explaining the Word.

3. Pastoring.

- Ephesians 4:11.

- The ability to shepherd a flock of people. Cares for the people.

4. Apostles.

- 1 Corinthians 12:28; Ephesians 4:11.

- The ability to start new churches.

5. Missions.

- Acts 13:2-3; 1 Corinthians 9:19-23.

- The ability to adapt to a different culture to reach unbelievers.

6. Evangelism.

- Ephesians 4:11.

- The ability to communicate the Good News of Jesus with unbelievers.

- There are a variety of styles to this.

Gifts That Guide:

7. Administration/organization.

- 1 Corinthians 12:28.

- The ability to organize and manage people, resources, and time for effective ministry. The ability to coordinate the details of a vision.

8. Leading.

- Romans 12:8.

- The ability to clarify and communicate vision. The ability to motivate others to work together toward a common goal.

Prayer:

9. Intercession.

- Colossians 1:9-12.

- The ability to pray zealously for the needs to others over extended periods of time.

10. Miracles.

- 1 Corinthians 12:28.

- The ability to pray in faith for supernatural intervention. May include the ability to discern when there is an open door.

Worship:

11. Music.

- Psalm 150.

- The ability to celebrate God’s presence through music. Can include the ability to lead a congregation, to lead a choir, to play an instrument, or to sing.

Practical Skills:

12. Artistry and craftsmanship.

- Exodus 31:3-11.

- The ability to build, maintain, or beautify things for God’s glory.

13. Serving.

- Romans 12:7; Ephesians 4:12; 1 Peter 4:11.

- The desire to respond to unmet needs and provide assistance. Doesn’t need recognition.

Heart Skills:

14. Helping.

- 1 Corinthians 12:28.

- The ability to assist others in doing their work without needing recognition.

15. Mercy.

- Romans 12:8.

- The ability to show kindness to those who are weak.

- The ability to detect hurt and empathize with those who are suffering. Provides a listening ear and support to those in crisis.

16. Encouragement.

- Romans 12:8.

- The ability to motivate and lift up those who are discouraged. The ability to notice what’s positive and share that with people. The heart to notice those struggling.

17. Hospitality.

- 1 Peter 4:9.

- The ability to make others, especially outsiders, feel welcomed. Can happen in church or at a meal, among other places.

18. Faith.

- 1 Corinthians 12:9.

- The ability to trust God for what cannot be seen and to have exceptional confidence in His promises.

19. Giving.

- Romans 12:8.

- The desire to give financially above what’s typically given. Can involve a lot of money or just a lot of sacrifice.

Spiritual Insight:

20. Wisdom.

- 1 Corinthians 12:8.

- Insight into particular situations and how to handle it.

21. Knowledge.

- 1 Corinthians 12:8.

- Insight into God’s truth. Also can be the ability to bring together a lot of information and break it down.
