5 Steps To A New Marriage

1. Accept responsibility for your part

Ephesians 5:22 For wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord. (NLT)

Ephesians 5:24 As the church submits to Christ, so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything. (NLT)

Ephesians 5:25 For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her. (NLT)

Ephesians 5:28 In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself. (NLT)

Ephesians 5:33 So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. (NLT)

2. Commit to doing whatever it takes

Matthew 19:6 So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate. (NIV84)

3. Deal with unresolved issues

James 5:16 Admit your faults to one another and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous man has great power and wonderful results. (TLB)

4. Ask people for help

Galatians 6:2 Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. (NIV84)

5. Believe God can change your marriage

Romans 4:17 As it is written: "I have made you a father of many nations." He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed-the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were. (NIV)
