Reflection

Dear sisters and brothers,

“A rotten apple spoils the (whole) barrel” is a proverb, we have all heard one time or the other.

The dictionary defines it as follows:

It only takes one bad person, thing, element, etc., to ruin the entire group, situation, project, etc. This refers to the fact that a rotting apple can cause other apples in close proximity to begin to rot as well.

The meaning is that the criminal, unethical, corrupt, or otherwise negative behavior of a single person will spread to other people around them.

In other words, we can say that a bad person influences everyone he or she comes into contact with, making them bad too.

In the same way, Jesus mentions:

“Watch out,

guard against the leaven of the Pharisees

and the leaven of Herod.”

It may be a single person or single thing that can make a difference in our lives, and in our society.

It can be positive or it can be negative or it can be good or it can be bad.

Noah was a good person, who could do something good.

Pharisees and Herod were examples of negative energy.

Therefore, Jesus warns about the bad influence of these people on them and reminds them of the feedings and their positive energy to motivate them.

Let us be positive energy with the help of the Spirit of Jesus in our lives and the world so that we can be a good example to others.

May the heart of Jesus live in the hearts of all. Amen…
