Summary: Everyone has a personal ministry - because God has called everyone to share and proclaim His Gospel truth. This ministry simply involves telling others about Jesus Christ. It begins in our homes with family and those closest to us, and then it extends outside of our homes with those we meet.

34) TELLING OTHERS ABOUT JESUS

GOSPEL STRATEGY RELATING TO PEOPLE

TEXT: 1 Corinthians 9:19-23

BRIEF RECAP

By now most of you are probably becoming more than familiar with,

The challenge found in Luke 1:1 - which makes reference to:

“...A declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us”.

And based of the mention of this principle...

Every week we look to open the Bible to make sure our beliefs in the Lord.

In our latest series of lessons...

We have opened the Word of God to explore more closely

The things we believe about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

And in way of a brief review

I think it is pretty clear based on what the Bible teaches...

And based on what we have already learnt during this study,

That once we have accepted Christ as our Saviour - through the glorious truth of the Gospel,

That it’s God’s will for us - to then to seek to freely share the Gospel with others.

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth - 1 Timothy 2:3-4

Furthermore, the Scriptures teach us that God doesn’t want anyone going to Hell.

The Lord is …Not willing that any should perish,

but that all should come to repentance - 2 Peter 3:9.

For this reason, Jesus said to the disciples in Mark 16:15:

...Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel.

Again in Matthew 28, in what we now refer to as “The Great Commission”,

Jesus said: All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, (Mat 28:18-19)…

And again the thing we are to be teaching…to be proclaiming and preaching openly

Is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I think it’s interesting that in Matthew 28 Jesus declared to His:

All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

“All Power” - not some power or a little power – but all power.

The term Power itself used here in the Greek speaks of “Authority”.

And for me, this is not just about us listening to what Christ has to say…

Recognizing the authority of God that rests upon Him,

But also about understanding how Jesus is also empowering us…

As His disciples to complete a task.

“Because I have all the power in Heaven and Earth” - Jesus said] – “Go you therefore”

“Go out in my power and under my authority - and do what needs to be done.”

And of course, we know what needs to be done – right?

We need to Teach the Gospel before all Nations.

Simply put – once we get saved…

Jesus wants us to tell others how they can be saved too.

Once we have come to hear and accept the truth of the Gospel...

It is God’s will – that we then go out and share the Gospel with others.

Remember the term Gospel itself means:

To bring “good news” or to declare “glad tidings”.

So this need not be an burdensome task...

Because this is a wonderful message that we have all been called to share.

And it’s a message this world so desperately needs to hear.

The Gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ,

And it’s the promise of eternal Salvation through Him...

That stands as glad tidings to all who hear it.

How do we Share?

So we know then what God wants us as his disciples to do - But how do we do it?

How do we effectively share this glorious message with others?

Well as we discovered last week - thankfully this is not as hard as it may seem.

In fact, through the Scriptures we see many examples...

Of How the earlier disciples who came before us – shared the Gospel.

And for me – one of the most obvious examples to look and learn from...

Comes through the Apostle Paul’s life and ministry.

In fact, in Romans 1:1 the Bible says that: Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle,

separated unto the gospel of God,

So this was Paul’s whole focus and the intent behind his ministry,

He was whole heartedly committed to doing what God had called him to do...

In separated himself for preaching and declaration of the Gospel before others.

But How did He do it?

And more to the point – How are we to do it?

Well as we study the Scriptures, we are able to discover from the example of the Apostle Paul’s life,

How – like him, we to can answer God’s Calling...

And under Christ’s Power and authority - effectively share the Gospel with others.
