Contributed by Daniel King, D. Min. on Jul 24, 2018 (message contributor)
Summary: This is an evangelistic sermon designed to convince people to become a believer. This sermon describes three tangible benefits of becoming a Christian.
I. Forgiveness
A. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9 NKJV).
B. “I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and You forgave the iniquity of my sin” (Psalm 32:5 NKJV).
C. “To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins” (Acts 10:43 NKJV).
D. “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us” (Psalm 103:12 NKJV).
E. “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool” (Isaiah 1:18 NKJV).
F. “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out” (Acts 3:19 NKJV).
II. A Friend
A. “There is a friend who sticks closer than a brother” (Proverbs 18:24 NKJV).
B. “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends” (John 15:13 NKJV).
C. “And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, ‘Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.’ And he was called the friend of God” (James 2:23 NKJV).
III. A Future.
A. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV).
B. But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him” (1 Corinthians 2:9 NKJV).
