Summary: As servants of the Lord, we are called to share the truth of God's Word with others.

As servants of the Lord, we are called to share the truth of God's Word with others. However, we must do so in a gentle and humble manner, recognizing that spiritually blinded individuals cannot be convinced through argumentation alone.

The Biblical Principle of Gentleness

In 2 Timothy 2:24-26, the apostle Paul writes, "And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will."

Examples of Gentle Truth-Sharing

1. Jesus and the Woman at the Well (John 4:1-42)

Jesus shared the truth with the woman at the well in a gentle and non-confrontational manner. He asked her questions, listened to her responses, and shared the truth about Himself and the living water He offered.

2. Paul and the Athenians (Acts 17:16-34)

When Paul shared the truth with the Athenians, he did so in a respectful and gentle manner. He acknowledged their spiritual seeking and built bridges to the gospel message.

3. The Prophets and the Israelites (2 Chronicles 36:15-16)

The prophets of old shared the truth with the Israelites in a gentle and loving manner, despite the Israelites' repeated rebellion against God.

4. Nathan and David (2 Samuel 12:1-14)

When Nathan confronted David about his sin with Bathsheba, he did so in a gentle and non-accusatory manner. Nathan shared a parable that allowed David to see his own sin and repent.

5. Jesus and the Pharisees (Matthew 23:1-36)

While Jesus strongly rebuked the Pharisees for their hypocrisy, He did so in a way that was not quarrelsome or argumentative. Instead, He shared the truth about their hearts and actions.

6. Paul and the Corinthian Church (1 Corinthians 1:10-17)

When Paul addressed the divisions within the Corinthian church, he did so in a gentle and humble manner. He appealed to their shared faith in Christ and encouraged them to unite in love.

7. The Apostle John and the Early Church (1 John 1:1-4)

In his epistle, John shared the truth about Jesus Christ in a gentle and loving manner. He emphasized the importance of fellowship with God and with one another.

Conclusion

As servants of the Lord, we must share the truth of God's Word in a gentle and humble manner. We must recognize that spiritually blinded individuals cannot be convinced through argumentation alone, but rather through the gentle and loving approach of the Holy Spirit. May we follow the examples of Jesus, Paul, and other biblical leaders, sharing the truth in a way that is respectful, loving, and non-quarrelsome.
