“Get Your House In Order Physically”

Text: II Kings 20:1

“In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.”

Timothy 2:15-17

15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

17 And their word will eat as doth a canker:

Introduction:

This mornings message is part two of a entitled “Get Your House in Order.” Today we are going to be looking at “Get Your House in Order Physically.” Because as I made reference in the introductory sermon that, “Physical problems can cause divorce between each other in the family.” You may ask pastor well, “What do you mean by get your house in order physically?” I’m so glad you asked, because I’m going to try my best to tell you this morning.

You see long term sick or permanent handicaps can have put a heavy strain on a family. It sometimes causes extra marital affairs. With dysfunctional homes physically will un-invitingly cause spiritually problems also. In last weeks sermon we looked at the roll of each family member: Husband/father is the head of House or leader, Wife/mother is the teacher, Children are trainees, and parents are a team that are suppose to work together to make the house stay in order.

1.Father’s Job list for getting his house in order:

a. Leading his family forward Spiritually.

b. Providing for his family’s needs.

c. Setting the standards for his family to follow.

2.Mother’s Job list for getting his house in order:

a. Supporter for her family Spiritually.

b. Keeper of the house or homemaker.

c. Reinforcer of the standards set.

3.Children’s Job list for getting his house in order:

a. Followers after their parents Spiritually.

b. Helpers of keeping the house going.

c. Keepers of the standards set.

Conclusion:

Fathers we have a great responsibility in getting our house in order. Mothers you have a great responsibility in keeping the your house in order. And Children you have great responsibility of following and staying in order.
