Five Things You can Do to Live an Encouraged Life.

In 1Sam 30 you’ll read because the fighting men lost their wives and children they Wept so they could weep no More and said “Lets stone David.” David’s response was he “found strength (encouraged himself) in the LORD his God.” 1Sam 30:7

What we can do is to live an encouraged life;

1. Recognize that you do not have to stay discouraged. Overcoming Begins with our Choice

Discouragement is not from God result of living by sight rather than living by faith, whatever the outlook on life/future Faith helps look beyond, read PS 121.

2. Remember, you are in covenant with God, and He has committed Himself to take care of you in every situation. You are the Apple of His Eye

When the circumstances of life pressed in on David, David pressed in on the benefits of his covenant relationship with God, Read Ps 103.

3. Refuse to give voice to your discouragement and start giving voice to your encouragement. Change the TV Channel in you mind. (you can watch the video for this message at http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=qTb0Vp1ySuo)

Turn Off the Moan & Misery mind set and Cheer Up your not walking on Sunshine Walking in the Light of God

Turn Off the Rehearse & Revenge mind set and Forget the former things, Forgive and Love enemies.

Turn Off the Defeated & Hopeless mind set and remind yourself In Jesus you are more than a Conquer and God has good plans for you. ,

Turn Off Nobody Loves Me Channel and remind yourself God so loved the world…. Greater Love has no man than this

Stop repeating the lies of the devil and start speaking the promises of God.

Stop speaking out of fear/defeat/hopelessness and start speaking in faith.

Stop rehearsing your hurts and start rejoicing in your blessings

Stop talking about the problem and start talking about the solution.

Find out what the Word of God has to say about your situation, then start speaking it, rather than your feelings.

4. Reflect on the LORD. One of the Hebrew words for “meditate” literally means to murmur/to converse with yourself. It is your “self-talk,” the way you speak to yourself about the things in your life. Let your positive thinking/speaking, be about you and the Lord, His love, His Word, His promises, His goodness, His works.

5. Rejoice in the presence of the LORD. “Give thanks to the Lord. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise” (Psalm 104:4).

This requires a quality decision saying to yourself: “I will give thanks. I will praise.”

Nehemiah said, “The joy of the LORD is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10). David said to the Lord, “In Your presence is fullness of joy” (Psalm 16:11). Discouragement will tell you that you have nothing going for you and everything going against you.

Encouragement tells you that you have everything going for you and it doesn’t matter what you have going against you. God is on your side.
