Do not neglect your gift

1 Timothy 4:12 Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 13 Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. 14 Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. 15 Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.

I’m not going to go into Spiritual Gifts

But let’s not overlook the Gift (whatever)

Was accompanied by..Prophetic and Laying on of Hands

I believe in Spiritual Gifts —

I’m not sure I believe all people who have them

But there is power in ...

The word being spoken over...and... Laying on of hands

While I could teach that... While I have taught this

NOT TONIGHT

I want to concentrate on Paul’s Request..

Paul didn’t want him to be like him... John...Peter....

He wanted him to be like him

“USE THE GIFT IN YOU”

“Don’t quit being who God has called you to be”

2 Tim 1: 6 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

The emphasis here and the other verse isn’t on the gift... Using the Gift...

Here he ends with 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

3 ways to not neglect the Gift

1. Let your gift be seen —

Now if you grew up Pentecostal... this means.. Church can’t end until Sister Susie has Spoken in tongues and Elder Gerald has interpreted.

If you grew up Baptist it means... You better use or God’s gonna take it from you

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

The less you use.. What God has given you..

The less Faith you have

I pray for the sick.. Healing... If I don’t I’ll forget God has equipped me to do that

I’ve seen Tumors disappear, Deaf Ears Opened, Leukemia Vanish, and Cancer beaten

I had to have faith in God to heal..

And faith in myself...to ask

See I believe the minute a Christians Enters the Door of a Terminal person/ Hospital

THE ODDS CHANGE

You may have one of the gifts listed in 1 Cor 12... Prophecy, miracles, discernment

Or you may be able to ... Love, Edify, Strengthen, Encourage, Cook, Smile

1 Corinthians 12: 4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.

Don’t be afraid, Don’t be ashamed.... BE REAL

Be real with yourself... TO EACH OTHER

2. Let your gift be fed

Too many Christians want to be an Island

That’s how they believe, think, worship, talk, walk.... I got God.. I don’t need anyone

God didn’t put us all here... To keep to ourselves

When I could hang out with all DENOM and not care about our differences....I BEGAN TO BE FED

I didn’t let... Our differences...Keep me from being, better, sharpened, stronger,

Friends.. Expound, Church...expound, Family...expound
