Summary: As Paul praised God when he heard how the Ephesian believers lived, we too will bring God praise by impact our lives have on ourselves and others.

We must cause God to be praised.

These things in the Ephesian believers’ lives caused Paul to give thanks to God and praise Him for His work in them; as we do the same things, we too can cause people around us to praise God for His works in us.

1. Our Faith in God (15a)

Faith is obviously inside them

Grounded and resting in Jesus—know and trust Him

2. Our Love for Each Other (15b)

God works to move us closer

Faith that draws people to God draws them to each other

As the spokes of a wheel approach the center, they draw near to each other

God’s love is love in action; other “love” exists in our minds only

3. Our Trust in God’s Help (16-17)

Wisdom to evaluate life today

What do we do to show our faithfulness and love?

What do we say “yes” to because of God?

Learn more about God so we can trust Him now. He...

...Is alive and active (Hebrews 11:6)

...Can act without help from outside (Isaiah 40:13-14)

...Has no limits (Deuteronomy 33:27)

...Knows what is best (Hebrews 4:13; Ps. 139:1-4)

...Wants us to have the best we can find in life

...Is loving (1 John 4:8)

...He is gracious (Psalm 103:8)

...Remembers us (Luke 1:54-55)
