Summary: Sin (and iniquity) is the disease all men experience. The symptoms of that disease in the body are summarized as the lusts of the flesh. The hindrances to being conformed to the image of Christ which infect the body.

Sin (and iniquity) is the disease all men experience.

The symptoms of that disease in the body are summarized as the lusts of the flesh.

Lusts of the flesh:

>SEXUAL lust: All desire for sexual satisfaction outside of marriage

includes:

• Self-satisfaction(masturbation)

• Fornication (unmarried sex)

• Adultery (sex w/other married)

• Lasciviousness (filled with or showing sexual desire, lewd, lustful)

>GLUTTONY: 1: excess in eating or drinking; 2: greedy or excessive indulgence

A common misnomer today is “food dependency”-considered a “disease”:

“Food dependency is a disease typified by loss of control over the ability to stop eating certain foods.

(Of course it’s not a disease- it is one manifestation of the lust.)

Food disorders (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating,..) are frequently driven by this lust.

EATING DISORDERS AND FOOD DEPENDENCY – WHAT MAKES THEM DIFFERENT

>SLOTH: a: disinclination to action or labor; b: spiritual apathy and inactivity

includes:

Indolence -inclination to laziness

Apathy - lack of feeling or emotion : result = IMPASSIVENESS

" - lack of interest or concern : result = INDIFFERENCE

Procrastination- to put off intentionally and habitually (something that should be done).

In light of these go back to your Feb rating done in Session 2 and prayerfully re-rate yourself if necessary:
