1. to do away with, to set aside, disregard

2. to thwart the efficacy of anything, nullify, make void, frustrate

3. to reject, to refuse, to slight

Numbers 15:30-31 (Amplified Bible)

15:30 But the person who does anything [wrong] willfully and openly, whether he is native-born or a stranger, that one reproaches, reviles, and blasphemes the Lord, and that person shall be cut off from among his people [that the atonement made for them may not include him].

15:31 Because he has despised and rejected the word of the Lord, and has broken His commandment, that person shall be utterly cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him.

Hebrews 2:2 (Amplified Bible)

2:2 For if the message given through angels [the Law spoken by them to Moses] was authentic and proved sure, and every violation and disobedience received an appropriate (just and adequate) penalty,

2 Samuel 12:9 (Amplified Bible)

12:9 Why have you despised the commandment of the Lord, doing evil in His sight? You have slain Uriah the Hittite with the sword and have taken his wife to be your wife. You have murdered him with the sword of the Ammonites.

2 Samuel 12:13 (Amplified Bible)

12:13 And David said to Nathan, I have sinned against the Lord. And Nathan said to David, The Lord also has put away your sin; you shall not die.

Even when King David an Old Testament character living in the Old Testament times obtained mercy and pity from the LORD that he was spared from death but earned the consequences.

Witnesses or "martus" in Greek meaning: a witness, or a martyr. One that will earn consequences of what he has witnessed but still need to tell it even costing his death. Example: Revelations 2:13 Antipas became a martyr because he witnessed of CHRIST.

Revelation 2:13 (Amplified Bible)

2:13 I know where you live—a place where Satan sits enthroned. [Yet] you are clinging to and holding fast My name, and you did not deny My faith, even in the days of Antipas, My witness, My faithful one, who was killed (martyred) in your midst—where Satan dwells.

Romans 9:15 (Amplified Bible)

9:15 For He says to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy and I will have compassion (pity) on whom I will have compassion.

James 2:13 (Amplified Bible)

2:13 For to him who has shown no mercy the judgment [will be] merciless, but mercy [full of glad confidence] exults victoriously over judgment.

2 Corinthians 13:1 (Amplified Bible)

13:1 THIS IS the third time that I am coming to you. By the testimony of two or three witnesses must any charge and every accusing statement be sustained and confirmed.

IX. CONCLUSION:

Thank You very much LORD JESUS for You are the Father of pity, mercy and Source of all comfort that I have obtained mercy, kindness and You have comforted me in time of my need.

2 Corinthians 1:3 (Amplified Bible)

1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of sympathy (pity and mercy) and the God [Who is the Source] of every comfort (consolation and encouragement),
