Summary: A lesson in Evangelism
What was Jesus doing?
1) Teaching/Preaching the Gospel of the kingdom. (What is the Gospel?)
2) Healing every disease / affliction.
Jesus’ Philosophy of Ministry
- “The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father do: for what things he does, these also do the Son likewise.” (John 5:19 )
- “I always do the things which please the Father.” (John 8:29)
- Jesus lived in absolute surrender and in absolute humility.
The Imperative
1) Pray TO the Lord of the harvest.
2) Don’t do ministry on your own. Seek God’s will, not yours!
3) The lesson is finally this: it is the Father that does the work. He doesn’t necessarily send us to do anything, but positions us so that He can accomplish His plans through us.
4) Pray before proceeding.
