Arrows of Truth # 19 - What is the 5th step of the Hunters strategy?
The 5th step of the Hunters strategy is:
Restoration of the dropout believer through prayer(warfare).
Before we discuss the warfare itself – prayer -- we must understand the strategy of the warfare.
Where is the battle taking place? In the mind (2 Co 10:5). What are our weapons of warfare? The "armor of God" (Eph 6:13-17).
Many good teachings and books are available on this subject and we will not attempt to redevelop these truths.
The process of spiritual warfare on behalf of the dropout believer is simple: we expose darkness to light. (Eph 5:13). We expose darkness -- the spiritual stronghold -- to the light of Jesus Christ -- the Word of God -- by declaring the Word of God! How do we do this? By using the Scripture as our weapon -- the sword of the Spirit. (2 Tim 3:16).
This warfare process (in your prayer closet!) involves:
1. Observation of the behaviors, or works (fruit) of the flesh (Gal 5:19-21) in the dropout believer.
2. Ask for discernment by the Holy Spirit to reveal the stronghold(s) driving the behaviors (Ref: App. C Strongholds in ministry book).
3. Bind the strongman (Matthew 18:18).
4. Loose the power of the Holy Spirit.
