Who Are We? Series

Summary: This is not about US building a church – Jesus is the one who builds the church – Matt 16:18 “and on this rock I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH” – what is the rock? It is the confession that JESUS is the Messiah, the SON of the Living God!
Under Construction: Who are we?
Determined to reach the Lost!
This is not about US building a church – Jesus is the one who builds the church – Matt 16:18 “and on this rock I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH” – what is the rock? It is the confession that JESUS is the Messiah, the SON of the Living God! (Verse 16)!
So we are NOT Building a church – the church is the body of believers – we are coming together as a PORTION of the church – a group in fellowship together – and we are discovering what Jesus has in store for us – WHO ARE WE AS A portion of the church. That is the question. And so far we have a few answers – Straight out of the Word of God because we are PEOPLE of God – are we are trying to REFLECT Jesus in this fallen and broken world.

• A Church that puts First Things First
o First of the day we SEEK God
o First of the week we WORSHIP God
o First of the Month we TITHE to God
o First of the year we FAST to grow closer to God
• A church DETERMINED to reach the Lost!
1. Luke 19:10 – for the son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost
a. Seek –
b. Save –
2. Mark 16:15-16 – then He said to them, “go into ALL THE WORLD and Preach the Gospel to the whole creation. Whoever believes and it baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned!

c. To SAVE -
3. 1 Cor 9:22 - To the weak I became weak, in order to win the weak. I have become all things to all people, so that I may by every possible means save some.
a. Do whatever it takes, short of sin, to reach the Lost!
b. “so that I may by every possible means save some”
i. Paul knew he was not going to reach everyone he tried!
ii. Notice what he does say – I have become all things to ALL PEOPLE, so that I may, by every possible means, SAVE SOME!
iii. He tried with Everyone,
iv. tried to relate to people who were different than him – to save SOME
4. Matt 9:37-38 - 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. 38 Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.”
