Summary: When you find yourself facing life's storm

47 And when evening came, the boat was out on the sea, and he was alone on the land. 48 And he saw that they were making headway painfully, for the wind was against them. And about the fourth watch of the night[a] he came to them, walking on the sea. He meant to pass by them, 49 but when they saw him walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost, and cried out, 50 for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.” 51 And he got into the boat with them, and the wind ceased. And they were utterly astounded, (KJV)

We all know of the scripture from Matthew 14 that talks about Peter stepping out of the boat and focusing on the storm and losing sight of Jesus.

This is a remarkable story to help and remind us that when we take our eyes off of Jesus we will look at all of the things that the world throws at us.

This story in our scripture is different

It tells us that Jesus saw that they were having issues,

they were fighting the storm..

But he didn’t plan on stopping,

it tells us “he planed on walking past..

It’s not that he didn’t care,

Or that he wanted to prove something to them

He just understand that struggles and storms are just part of life..

Never did he take his eyes off of them.

Never does Jesus take his eyes off of us..

Even when we think we are all alone

Jesus is standing holding us up..

The things we face as hard as it is to understand is just part of the plan..

But when we lose hope Jesus is right there to pull us back up..

In life I tried to change the plans

In life I tried to create my own path

And trust me when I tried to thing on my own,

I would always fail and fall

Throughout life I have found myself in some places,

Traveling on roads that I should have never been on.

When I look back I realize that I was never really alone

Jesus was right there helping me thru those trials..

When all the things that I thought were so important

The people in my life that I thought were the ones I really needed were no longer with me

As I look back I didn’t understand why all of this was happing

the places and people were no longer part of my life.

It was Jesus removing those things so he could shape me into the person,

No the man that I needed to be..

See

It was the trials

It was the pain

It was the waiting

It was all of the failures and suffering that were true blessings.

It was GRACE

They in them self’s were true miracles.

It was during these times that when I look back

I can see Jesus

Even when I could not see or hear him

Jesus was shaping me into the person that I needed to be.

Today I can tell you that I’m not perfect.

I’m still a work in progress

In my best times I still need a healing of the heart

I still find myself sitting in the darkness all alone,

But if I sit quite for a moment I can hear Jesus

If I close my eyes and stop looking for problems,

I can see Jesus.

See

It was the trials

It was the pain

It was the waiting

It was all of the failures and suffering that were true blessings.

They in them self’s were true miracles.

It was during these time that when I look back

I can see Jesus…

Not only on the mountain tops are we with Jesus

as we stand in the valley of darkness

and find ourselves feeling all alone

When we think that God has left us

We are never alone

We have Jesus..

But what the scripture tells me is there is times in life that we will struggle against the storm

it is all part of the plan.

When an athlete trains, he trains to win

in life that we will struggle against the storm

But when it becomes over whelming

Jesus will step into our boat and the storms will stop..

8 The LORD will lead you. He himself is with you. He will not fail you or leave you. Don’t worry. Don’t be afraid!”
