Summary: Are you feeling stuck or uncertain about your current circumstances?

Do you wonder if this is all there is to life? Take heart, dear believer, for where you are right now is only the training ground of a greater purpose in God!

In 1 Peter 1:6–7, we read, “In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith — of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire — may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.”

God is refining us like gold in the fire, purifying our faith and preparing us for a greater purpose. This process may be difficult, but it is temporary and produces eternal results.

In Romans 8:28–30, we are reminded, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.”

God is working everything out for our good, conforming us to the image of Christ, and glorifying us in the process. Our current circumstances are merely a stepping stone to a greater purpose.

In 2 Corinthians 4:17–18, we read, “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

Our troubles are temporary and producing an eternal glory that far outweighs them. Let us fix our eyes on the unseen, eternal purpose God has for us.

In conclusion, where you are right now is only the training ground of a greater purpose in God. He is refining your faith, conforming you to Christ, and glorifying you in the process. Keep your eyes fixed on the eternal purpose, and know that your current circumstances are merely a stepping stone to greatness in God!
