INTRODUCTION:
Delays can be frustrating and discouraging, often making us question whether God's promises will ever come to pass. However, we serve a God who specialises in breaking the cycle of delay and granting supernatural speed to His children. He is the God of speed, able to cause rapid turnarounds that defy natural processes.
When God steps into a situation, what normally takes years can happen in days or even moments. His intervention brings about divine acceleration where human effort has failed. In this season, God is saying to you: "No more delays!"
Today’s message will unveil how the God of speed operates and how you can position yourself to enjoy divine acceleration in every area of your life.
1. GOD HAS POWER OVER TIME AND SEASONS
God controls times and seasons; He can compress or extend them as He pleases.
a) God Is Not Limited by Human Timetables
His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9).
b) God Can Redeem Time Lost
He can restore lost years and opportunities (Joel 2:25).
c) Delays Are Broken by Divine Decrees
When God speaks, delays end immediately (Ezekiel 12:28).
d) God Brings Swift Fulfilment of Promises
What seems delayed can happen suddenly (Isaiah 60:22).
Biblical Example: Sarah gave birth to Isaac after long years of waiting by the intervention of God (Genesis 21:1-2).
2. GOD ANOINTS HIS PEOPLE FOR SPEED
Through His Spirit, God empowers His children to move faster than human ability.
a) The Hand of the Lord Brings Speed
Elijah outran Ahab’s chariot by divine empowerment (1 Kings 18:46).
b) The Anointing Accelerates Progress
Without the anointing, human effort struggles (Zechariah 4:6).
c) Anointing Breaks the Spirit of Delay
Every yoke of stagnation is destroyed by the anointing (Isaiah 10:27).
d) Speed Is a Mark of Divine Favour
God's favour causes swift movements into destiny (Psalm 102:13).
Biblical Example: Philip was supernaturally transported by the Spirit after baptising the Ethiopian eunuch (Acts 8:39-40).
3. OBEDIENCE ACTIVATES DIVINE SPEED
Immediate obedience to God's instruction invites divine acceleration.
a) Obedience Positions You for Speed
God responds swiftly to the obedient (Deuteronomy 28:1-2).
b) Delayed Obedience Causes Delayed Blessings
Hesitation slows down divine intervention (Jonah 1:1-3).
c) Swift Obedience Unlocks New Levels
Prompt actions lead to prompt blessings (Genesis 12:4).
d) God Rewards Radical Obedience with Speedy Results
Obeying even when it’s hard triggers divine surprises (Luke 5:5-6).
Biblical Example: Peter experienced a miraculous catch of fish through immediate obedience (Luke 5:4-6).
4. PRAYER AND PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS BREAK DELAY
Persistent prayer and decrees can shatter barriers causing stagnation.
a) Prayer Provokes Divine Intervention
Consistent prayer moves God to action (Luke 18:1-8).
b) Prophetic Declarations Shift Atmospheres
Speaking God's word accelerates fulfilment (Job 22:28).
c) Angels Are Released Through Prayer
Prayer releases heavenly help for speed (Daniel 10:12).
d) Prophecy Aligns You With God's Timing
Receiving and believing prophetic words hastens manifestation (2 Chronicles 20:20)
Biblical Example: Daniel's persistent prayer led to angelic intervention despite initial delays (Daniel 10:12-14).
5. MAINTAINING FAITH AND EXPECTATION BRINGS SPEED
Faith is the bridge between delay and fulfilment.
a) Faith Accelerates the Manifestation of Promises
Believing God hastens His word (Hebrews 11:1).
b) Expectation Fuels Divine Movement
What you expect, you attract (Proverbs 23:18).
c) Doubt Delays, Faith Quickens
Doubt keeps the promise far, faith brings it near (James 1:6-8).
d) Speaking Faith Words Invites Divine Action
Your confession determines your possession (2 Corinthians 4:13).
Biblical Example: The woman with the issue of blood received instant healing because of her faith (Mark 5:25-34).
