Summary: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature
Jeremiah 18: 1-4 the word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD saying, 2 “Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will announce My words to you.” 3 Then I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was, making something on the wheel. 4 But the vessel that he was making of clay was spoiled in the hand of the potter; so he remade it into another vessel, as it pleased the potter to make.
Look where he brought me from? – Hear the Lord Series
Israel was in a wretched condition backsliding and not harkening unto the word of the Lord.
The alliance with the Egyptians had been broken and a new alliance with the Babylonians was made. The leaders decided among themselves to break the alliance and realign with Egypt, Nebachednezzar got wind of it and put down the uprising and replaced the King with one appointed by him. Through all of this Jeremiah was prophesizing for them to be obedient and thankful, but they would not listen. The same thing happened and this time he appointed a governor. After the last incidence the mighty men, and the men of knowledge (like Daniel, Shadrach, Meschach, and Abednego) were carried away into captivity.
In this case of the above scripture, the Potter is GOD, Israel is the broken vessel, and its condition was spoiled. Israel had to be broken and remade as the Lord saw fit. In this current time the Potter is still GOD, the spoiled or damaged vessel is we, and GOD will perfect or remake us as He sees fit.

In conclusion, therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17). This new creature walks in a newness of life (Romans 6:1-4) And serves sin no more in the our current condition in Christ. (Romans 6:5-6)
