Summary: Let's prepare for famines to come

I invite you to consider praying over the following scriptures.

On the first page of the bible it says God put man on earth to “Tend and Keep the garden.”

This divine design of God is encouraged throughout the scriptures.

We have Jesus warning of coming famines in Matthew 24.

We have the model of Joseph preparing for a coming famine.

We have the model of Jesus feeding 5,000.

Proverbs 31 tells of a noble woman of God who considers a field, purchases it, and plants a vineyard.

We are ambassadors of Christ not just for the souls of men but for all of creation:

Romans 8 says, “For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. …in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.”

Revelation 13 says, “No one will be able to buy at market without taking the mark of the beast.”

Besides famines and tyranny to come, safe food is important now.

God's first words to man included the warning to watch what we eat.

God cares about our health.

“By his stripes we are healed.”

90 chemicals are used to grow our food that are banned in Europe.

Our life expectancy is now 6 years behind Europes while those numbers were even just 40 years ago.

Jesus said, “Zeal for my father’s house consumes me.” The church together is that temple.

The kingdom will be centered around a garden, Revelation 22 says:

“The angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.”

Our independence from the world, food purity, food security are all served when we tend and keep the garden. All of this while creating delicious, nutritious beauty.

Food, building materials, fuel, and medicine give us independence from tyrannical consumerism.

Following the divine design we get fresh air, exercise, and sunshine making ourselves maximally alive, healthy and strong.

If a third of us got chickens we’d have no need for an egg industry. If we grow some potatoes, and plant some fruit trees, we are on the way to self-reliance.

Let’s plant paradise everywhere.

I hope you’ll pray about sharing these scriptures in church.
