2 What It Means To Be Conformed To The Image Of Christ Series

The preeminent directive for Christian maturity is:

Therefore you shall be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matthew 5:48

SC 5046 (telios) mature; complete. Living totally in obedience and conformity to all known scriptural commands and precepts and all conscience directives.

This is NOT an option for Christians:

For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. Romans 8:29

That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; Philippians 3:10-11

Until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:13

We proclaim Him, admonishing every person and teaching every person with all wisdom, so that we may present every person complete in Christ. Colossians 1:28

And have put on the new self, which is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created it— Colossians 3:10

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:18

Conformed to the image of Christ- What it looks like in me and you.

>Your heart (soul) desires are in conformity with the will of God in all respects.

Heart: SC 2588-kardia [thoughts,feelings,will] comp H3820 “leb”

>Your conscience(spirit) is pure, undefiled and without blame at this moment.

Spirit: SC 4151-pneuma [spirit,life,rational soul] comp H7307 ruach

Hindrances (or Disease symptoms) - pride covetousness lust anger gluttony envy sloth

Aids (or Antidotes) - fruits of Spirit (Gifts do not count!)
