To show that the new covenant included the writings of the WORDS into our minds and hearts.

IV. TEXT:

Hebrews 10:16 (Amplified Bible)

10:16 This is the agreement (testament, covenant) that I will set up and conclude with them after those days, says the Lord: I will imprint My laws upon their hearts, and I will inscribe them on their minds (on their inmost thoughts and understanding),

V. THESIS:

Thank You very much LORD JESUS for the new covenant You made with us, now Your WORD is imprinted in our hearts and inscribed into our minds.

The Covenant That The Lord Had Made With Us

C. Authorship: Not specific, but generally attributed to Apostle Paul. Can be also ascribed to Barnabas, Luke, Apollos

D. Audience: Hebrew Christians

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. This covenant will be made after those days

"This is the agreement (testament, covenant) that I will set up and conclude with them after those days, says the Lord:"

Hebrews 8:8-9 (Amplified Bible)

8:8 However, He finds fault with them [showing its inadequacy] when He says, Behold, the days will come, says the Lord, when I will make and ratify a new covenant or agreement with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.

8:9 It will not be like the covenant that I made with their forefathers on the day when I grasped them by the hand to help and relieve them and to lead them out from the land of Egypt, for they did not abide in My agreement with them, and so I withdrew My favor and disregarded them, says the Lord.

The days is not literal days but pertains to "age" or "period" that referred to the old covenant. Now the old covenant has been concluded because of the finished work of the LORD, and the new covenant is now at work and effective.

B. The covenant will have these conditions:

1. The LORD will imprint His Laws into our hearts

2. The LORD will inscribe His Laws into our minds

"I will imprint My laws upon their hearts, and I will inscribe them on their minds (on their inmost thoughts and understanding)"

Before the Laws was written or "inscribed" in tablets of stone now it's written or "inscribed" in our hearts and our minds.

2 Corinthians 3:2-3 (Amplified Bible)

3:2 [No] you yourselves are our letter of recommendation (our credentials), written in your hearts, to be known (perceived, recognized) and read by everybody.

3:3 You show and make obvious that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, not written with ink but with [the] Spirit of [the] living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

Romans 2:15 (Amplified Bible)

2:15 They show that the essential requirements of the Law are written in their hearts and are operating there, with which their consciences (sense of right and wrong) also bear witness; and their [moral] decisions (their arguments of reason, their condemning or approving thoughts) will accuse or perhaps defend and excuse [them]

But don't abuse the WORD and you don't bring your bibles with you anymore, but you need to know that the WORD has been inside of us and will teach and remind us.

IX. CONCLUSION:

Thank You very much LORD JESUS for the new covenant You made with us, now Your WORD is imprinted in our hearts and inscribed into our minds.
