We need to know what we believe and why we believe it.

Take all the questions people in the world have, and they all boil down to one question… “Did God create man, or did man create God?”

In other words, “Is man created in the image of God, or is God created in the imagination of man?”

Evolution: It’s really not science at all, it’s a philosophy, just as creationism is.

A creationist believes it just the way the Bible says it…God created all that is in 6 days.

Unfortunately, many Christians today are feeling the need to rectify the Bible w/ evolutionism. They think it’s possible to mix the two. “Theistic Evolution” is the name of that philosophy, and it’s dangerous!

They say, perhaps the 6 days of creation are not literal days. Maybe, since with God a day is like 1,000 years, maybe those days are really ages thru which things evolved.

Why do they think that? Well, because, after all, they’ve proven it…I mean, they date fossils and rocks and they find that they’re millions of years old!

Recognize one of Satan’s chief tactics in the lives of believers, compromise! Mix truth with error. He doesn’t mind you believing God started it all as long as you swallow the lie along with it. “Well, Satan says, I’m not gonna convince them there’s no God, so I’ll just get them to think that man is getting better and better, and eventually, they won’t need God!”

Take music: Satan knows that he can’t get some Christians to listen to worldly styles of music so he says, OK, I’ll compromise w/ you. I’ll clean up the words if you’ll still listen to the music. CCM

So, some believers (and/or professing believers) are buying into the

“day-age theory”. The problem is, it’s not Biblical!

1. Testimony of Language

Heb. “yom” means “one literal 24 hour period of time”.

“olam” is also trans. “day” and means an indefinite period of time… “in his day,” etc. That’s not the word used in Gen. 1.

Six times in Gen. 1 the phrase is used: “the evening and the morning” were the first day, etc. How clear can it be?

With simple faith in God’s Word, I believe that God created all that is in 6 literal days.

2. Testimony of Genealogies

Chapters 5-11 of Gen. The genealogies go back approx. 6,000 years.

If Evolution is correct and man is even 1 million years old, then you are forced to allow for a 50,000 year life span between each name in these chapters. That’s not reasonable.

With simple faith in God’s Word, I believe that God created all that is in 6 literal days.

3. Testimony of God

On Mt. Sinai. Ex. 20, God is giving Moses the 10 commandments. In commandment 4 God says, “remember the sabbath and keep it holy”. Obviously the sabbath is a 24 hour period of time which comes around once every week.

Ex. 20:11, “for in 6 days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea and all that in them is, and rested on the 7th day, wherefore, the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”

That’s what the Bible says, now what does Darwinian Evolution say?

The Origin of Species, p. 523

“analogy would lead me to believe that all animals and plants are descended from some prototype. All organisms start from a common origin, from such low and intermediate forms, both animals and plants may have been developed. All organic things that have ever lived on the earth, may be descended from one primoidial form.”

He goes on at length to describe that billions of years ago there was a primitive protozoa, we don’t know where it came from. It became an unsegmented worm, which somehow eventually became a fish, and after eons of time go by, it somehow became an amphibian, which became a reptile, then a bird, then a mammal, which has evolved to monkeys, and eventually, man.

It is a fairy tale for adults.

The evolutionist believes that nothing + time + chance = everything!

“Frog becomes a prince” (headline) In the nursery, that’s a fairy tale, but in the classroom they call it science.

It’s not taught as a theory or a philosophy, it’s taught as a fact!
