10 “P’s” for Pack-A-Pew Sunday

1. The People

· God created man

Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Isa 45:12 I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, [even] my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.

Isa 45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I [am] the LORD; and [there is] none else.

This applies to all of us…

Pro 22:2 The rich and poor meet together: the LORD [is] the maker of them all.

· In His image

Gen 1:27 So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Jer 27:5 I have made the earth, the man and the beast that [are] upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me.

Psa 119:73 Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments.

· For Himself

Psa 86:9 All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.

Phi 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth;

Phi 2:11 And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Act 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

Heb 12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected [us], and we gave [them] reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

Ecc 12:1 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

2. The Problem

Sin is the problem

Rom. 3:23

· Sin=missing the mark

We fall short of making it to heaven

God made us in His image but we’ve chosen a different way.

Speaking of us…it says in:

Ps 53:3 -

Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

3. The Penalty

· The penalty is death.

Rom. 6:23

Rev. 20:14-- 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

There is a price for sin…thank God Jesus paid that price!

4. The Provision

Rom. 5:8

· He took my hell for me!

5. The Promise

· God’s answer will be yes

Rom. 10:13

Joh 6:37 -

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

6. The Prayer

· A prayer of faith and repentance (then your life will change as a proof/fruit)

Something like this: “Dear God, I admit that I am a lost sinner that deserves hell, and I need to be saved. I believe you died in my place and conquered death for me, and that you want to save me. Please forgive my sins, and save me right now. Thank you for saving me…help me to live for You from now on! Amen”

7. The Permanence

The child of God is forever related to the Heavenly Father.

Jn. 10:28 “I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”

8. The Profession

· Believe it in your heart, say it with your mouth.

Rom. 10:10 “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

· How God knows we’re serious.

Mt 10:32 -

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

· We make it public by following the Lord in Believer’s Baptism

9. The Progress

· The most basic, foundational element to growing as a Christian is becoming faithful to church.

Heb. 10:25 “Not forsaking…”

10. The Purpose

It’s the reason why he saved us/secured us/substituted Himself for us/the very reason He created us…

· God created us and saved us to serve Him
