When God Build's The House! Series

***Psalm 127: 1A.

“Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it”.

#1) the context of today’s message has to do with the family (The text that we are reading today can be applied to the Church or to the family)

· The family is the spiritual center of all society no matter were you live in the world.

· Before there were any nations or cities or any other human communities (THERE WAS THE FAMILY)

#2) Families started nations and communities.

· We all come from the original family, Adam and Eve

· Father Abraham is the grandfather of our faith.

***The family is a Spiritual institution that God ordained since the foundation of the world.

· When God created Adam He realized that; “it is not good for man to be alone” so He created Eve.

· If you are a man “THANK THE LORD FOR EVE”.

EVEN BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD THE CONCEPT OF FAMILY WAS ALREADY AT WORK IN THE TRINITY.

· God said; “Let us make man in our own image”. He was talking to His family that consisted of the father, son and Holy Spirit.

· While He was calling everything into existence and consulting with Christ. The Holy Spirit was moving over the face of the waters waiting for Gods command.

And so we have the first example of how a family should operate.

1. The father being the head gives the command but not without first consulting the rest of the family.

2. The son respecting the headship of the father. And all contributing to the common good of all.

Notice that; He consulted with the family to get things accomplished.

#3) the best foundation for a good family is “The word of God”

1. If you build tour family in the principles of God, things will go smoother.

· Tell your wife how much you love her.

· Show your children that they are important (They can do everything in Christ)

· Wives, Submit to your husbands and honor their authority.

· Children, Obey your parents.

· Parents don’t provoke your children to wrath.

· Popular opinion is nice to know but if it’s not founded in Gods word it doesn’t mean anything.

· Listening to Gerry Springer or Oprah winfrey to raise your family is foolish.

2. Job 27:18 says that; “The foolish man builds his house like a moth”

· Hollow walls

· Out in the open where the enemy can devour it.

#4) If God builds the house it will be strong (we do this when we allow Godly principles to work in our favor)

· If you let God build your marriage it will last.

· There will be Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control. The bible says that; “Against these things there is no law”

· WHAT LAW? The law that has been established by the system of this world;

· People don’t even want to get married any more because the system that we live in tells them why get married if 50 per cent of marriages fail anyway.

· You know why they fail?

1. Lack of love. Marriage is not what bit used to be. Now its convenience.

2. Lack of self control. The #1 cause of divorce in the U.S is finances, because people don’t have self control (even in the church) YET THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT IS LOVE, SELF CONTR0L, PATIENCE, ETC.
