“When Christ Comes to Your Home” Mark 2:1-12

What happens when Christ comes into your home?

1. CHRIST WILL BRING JOY TO YOUR HOME (2:1)

A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home (Mark 2:1).

The entire family should invite Jesus into the home

The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God--he and his whole family (Acts 16:34).

Where is joy needed in your home?

2. CHRIST WILL BRING HOPE TO YOUR HOME (2:2a)

So many gathered that there was no room left, not even outside the door .... (Mark 2:2a).

There is hope when people see things being done in a family that only God can do.

“Who can forgive sins but God alone?” (Mark 2:7b).

Where is hope needed in your home?

3. CHRIST WILL BRING WISDOM TO YOUR HOME (2:2b)

.... and he preached the word to them (Mark 2:2b)

So where is Christ’s wisdom needed in your home?

4. CHRIST WILL BRING HEALING AND FORGIVENESS TO YOUR HOME (2:5)

When Jesus saw their faith he said to the paralytic, “Son your sins are forgiven” (Mark 2:5).

Church, where is Christ’s healing and forgiveness needed in your home?

CONCLUSION

If you want to build a phenomenal family – keep Christ at the centre of everything you do in your home.

“Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:33).

It really is as simple as that.
