Summary: What is true and real beauty? Let's explore this in this short sermon.

True Beauty is a Reflection of God's Image

The world that often defines beauty by external appearances, we will explore into the Scriptures to discover a deeper understanding of beauty that transcends physical attributes and reflects the very image of God. Let us begin our journey together.

The Foundation of True Beauty is Created in God's Image Genesis 1:27 states, "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." This foundational truth reveals that every human being, regardless of physical appearance, possesses inherent beauty because they are made in the likeness of God. Our true beauty lies in reflecting the character and attributes of our Creator.

True beauty is the Beauty of Character which is the Fruits of the Spirit acc to Galatians 5:22-23 such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These qualities are not dependent on physical appearance but are the essence of true beauty. When we cultivate these virtues in our lives, we radiate a beauty that is captivating and transformative.

The true beauty is the beauty of Humility. The Beauty of Humility Christ's Example In Philippians 2:5-8, we find the ultimate example of true beauty in the person of Jesus Christ. Despite being the Son of God, He humbled Himself, taking on the form of a servant and willingly sacrificing Himself for our salvation.

True beauty is found in humility, in considering others before ourselves, and in serving with a selfless heart.

The true beauty is the Beauty of Inner Transformation, which is Renewing the Mind. Romans 12:2 urges us not to conform to the patterns of this world but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. True beauty is not merely external but begins with an inner transformation. As we align our thoughts, attitudes, and actions with God's Word, we experience a beauty that emanates from within and impacts those around us.

The true beauty is the Beauty of Love which is the Greatest Commandment In Matthew 22:37-39, Jesus teaches us that the greatest commandment is to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and to love our neighbor as ourselves. True beauty is rooted in love, both for God and for others. When we love unconditionally, we reflect the beauty of God's love, which is the essence of true beauty.

True beauty is not confined to physical appearances or societal standards nor by fashion Industry. It is a reflection of God's image within us, manifested through the fruits of the Spirit, humility, inner transformation, and love. As we embrace and cultivate these  qualities, we become vessels of true beauty, impacting the world around us and drawing others closer to the beauty of our Creator. May we strive to reflect true beauty in our lives, knowing that it is not fleeting but eternal.

Amen
