Summary: Is Dying REALLY a death?

Thoughts About Death

Robert A. Glass

Wait! A minute! Before we get to death, let’s look at LIFE. When a Sperm and an EGG “shake hands” an ETERNAL Soul is created. (And eternal means that it CAN’T die.) Remember God knew us BEFORE even WE knew us. (Job 31:15) “Did not he that made me in the womb make him? and did not one fashion us in the womb?” (Isaiah 44:2) “Thus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.”

(Luke 1:41) “And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb” (Luke 2:23) “As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord.” (Galatians 1:15) “But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace,”

We were ALIVE, and had a soul, before we were born. And our knowledge was INSIDE the womb. We had NO idea of the vast world on the outer side of the birth canal. We were warm and cozy inside our own little world. UNTIL, POP! We were PUSHED into a NEW world.

Now, here we are in a new world. Just as alive as before and learning new things EVERYDAY. But this brings us to the subject at the beginning. What about DYING?

(1 Corinthians 15:52) “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye... we shall be changed.” Death is NOT an END. It is a NEW Beginning just as BIRTH was. We were a baby at birth and we are a spirit after death.

We don’t REMEMBER being born. (But it was probably a tad frightening along the way!) Take away the fear of dying by remembering a Christian has Jesus waiting on the other side.

Our DUTY is to prepare NOW, for a Prepared Heaven. (John 14:2-3) “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
