Summary: Bible talks about the power of vision to inspire and guide individuals and communities towards a better future

I want to talk to you about the power of vision. Vision is the ability to see beyond what is to what could be. It is the capacity to dream, to imagine, and to hope. And as Christians, vision is essential to our walk of faith.

Proverbs 29:18, "Where there is no vision, the people perish."

In Proverbs 29:18, we read that without vision, the people perish. Without a clear sense of direction and purpose, we are like ships adrift on a stormy sea. We need vision to guide us, to motivate us, and to inspire us.

But vision is not just about seeing what could be; it's also about seeing what God wants us to see. In Numbers 12:6, God says, "I speak to him [Moses] directly, and he listens to my words." God's vision for our lives is not a vague dream or a far-off hope. It is a clear and present reality that we can grasp and follow.

In Habakkuk 2:2-3, God says, "Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and not lie." God's vision for us is a promise, a promise that we can hold onto and trust in.

And in Philippians 3:13-14, Paul writes, "Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." Paul's vision for his life was to press on toward the goal of knowing Christ more and more, and we too can share in that vision.

So let us pray for the gift of vision. Let us ask God to open our eyes to see what He wants us to see, to show us His plans and purposes for our lives. And let us be faithful to follow that vision, trusting that it will lead us to a life of purpose, joy, and fruitfulness.

May God bless us all with a clear and compelling vision for our lives, that we may live out our faith with passion, courage, and hope. Amen!
