The Blessing Of Fatherhood Series

Being a male is a matter of birth but being a man in a godless society is a matter of choice. To you the man who daily makes the choices to be a man of integrity and honor, who is always there for your family even when not convenient, I SAY HAPPY FATHER'S DAY.

One of the utmost and urgent issues in the .heart of God is that of fatherhood. God’s design for society is to begin from great homes. And his design for building great homes is through fathers. Fathers are God’s custodians of homes. Fathers are crucial and vital link in the plan of God.

Fatherhood goes beyond sexual prowess but it simply means responsibility. It is taking responsibility on behalf of others in your domain which is your home.

1. Fathers are the priest of the home. Deuteronomy 6:6-7. Leviticus 16:17. A father has the responsibility over his house. Divine order. A priest, an intermediary. One who intercede on behalf of another. Ezekiel 22:30. One who lead others to God. As a father, you are to set the spiritual atmosphere of your home. Joshua 24:15. Of course, God expects you to have the support of your spouse, however he places the responsibility on you. Adam where are thou? God did not ask for Eve. Man must be submissive unto God. Psalms 112:1-3. Everything produces after its own kind. Teaching becomes impactful when you are an example of what you teach.

2. Fathers are instructors. Fathers are primarily instructors and not just advisers. Gym instructors. Instructor is one who instructs. Furnish with directions, to direct, or command. God our father does not give advise only, he commands. Proverbs 1:8-9. My son, hear the instructions of thy father and forsake not the law of thy mother. For they shall be ornament of grace unto thy head and chains about thy neck. Instructions are the highways to distinction. Proverbs 4:1, Proverbs 13:1, Proverbs 15:5. Model and instill in our children, that there is one and only true God. Evolutionist, Darwin theory, secular humanism, aetheistic belief. Sharpen them for worship. Abraham built an altar in Genesis 22:5, Genesis 26:25 Isaac later build an altar. Intentionally, lead them in faith, in obedience and in giving. Your tools: God’s word, prayer and love. Instruct them to align with the plan and purpose of God for their lives. Jeremiah 1:5, David helped Solomon.

3. Fathers are Rulers. I Timothy 3:4-5. Not a dictator. Any home where there is no ruler there will be ruins. Ruler: a measuring rod, a measuring standard. Someone who can provide firm direction. Firmness provides greatness. Genesis 18:19 Genesis 18:19 NKJV "For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the Lord, to do righteousness and justice, that the Lord may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him." He will enforce God’s commandment on his children. Hebrews 13:17. A child cannot be coming home under your roof at anytime and cannot ask question. Demonstrate and instill holiness into your children. World of compromise and moral decay. Don’t be afraid to tell your child that your family is different., we have been set apart, unique. It may be cool for other family to drink alcohol and drop pants and go to prom/porn, belly button, body piercing, sex before marriage but not in our lineage. NOT BY FORCE BUT BY GODLY INFLUENCE.

5. Fathers are providers. Fathers are covenant providers. I Timothy 5:8. Read Ephesians 5:21-33. They are to be the provider of love, protection and security/covering.

6. Fathers are to intentionally transfer the generational blessing. How? Through prayer and the laying of hands upon their children. Prayer and the laying on of hands are twins that cannot be separated. To pray without touch may limit the transfer and to touch without prayer could void the transfer. 2 Timothy 1:5-6

Jonathan Edwards. Married in 1927 had 11 children. He daily released generational blessing upon his children through prayer. check out the outcome
