TAKING BACK WHAT THE ENEMY HS STOLEN!

1 SAMUEL 30:1-8

This ministry was founded on what Jesus said is John 10: 10... And because of what the Lord tells us in that scripture, we have adopted a little saying that has come to be known as our motto and our creed... It is something that we confess and profess each week... It is the mandate that I believe God has given us for this and hour... We are simply, “Taking Back What The Enemy Has Stolen...!” But what does that really mean...? What does it really mean to Take Back What The Enemy Has Stolen...? In order to understand what this means, we must first understand what has been taken from us... (Understand John 10:10)

Likewise, our text gives us a great example of what it means to take back what rightfully belongs to us...

The text tells us that when David and his men returned from the battle, he found his family taken captive and his home burned to the ground. David and his army were so consumed with grief, they wept until they had no more power to weep. His soldiers even talked of stoning him. But even in the midst of this time of trial, David was able to find strength in the Lord; the Bible says that (v 6), "David encouraged himself in the Lord". After he encouraged himself, the Bible says that he prayed to God for instruction...

God answered him with the words that are recorded in verse 8; “Pursue: for you shall surely overtake them, and without fail recover all...!” I like this text because its symbolizes the power we have through Jesus Christ to recover what we have lost... Through this text, we discover that we are able, just like David, to recover everything that the enemy has stolen from us... The reason we are able to recover all is because of what Jesus Christ did for us at Calvary… What Jesus did at Calvary not only gives us eternal life, but it also gives us the power to recover all... The first reason is because Christ’s death...

I. REMOVED WHAT SIN DELIVERED

Understand that because of what Adam did in the Garden, we stood guilty and condemned (Gen 3:14-19) But through Christ we are justified by His grace… The power of sin alienated us from relationship and fellowship with God... (God cannot dwell in the midst of sin…) There are some consequences to sin… I’ve discovered that sin delivers…

Separation…

Reprobation…

Damnation…

But through Christ’s death, the power of sin over us is removed... Paul tells us that, "There is therefore no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the spirit” (Rom. 8:1-11)... (Deal with text…) IOW even though Adam’s actions delivered us into the hands in of the enemy and the power of sin, we are able to recover our relationship and position in God through Christ Jesus… Not only that, but Christ’s death...

II. RENEWED WHAT SIN DEFORMED

"If any man be in Christ he is a new creature…” (2 Cor. 5:17)... In the fall of man, sin totally deformed us all… Sin caused us to be looked at in different light… It changed our persona… It changed the way that God looked at us… But in Christ we are now a new creation, holy and accepted (1 Peter 2:9-10)… The things of the past are wiped away and we become brand new in the sight of God… (Title) Because of what Christ did… Christ’s death, Removes What Sin Delivers... Renews What Sin Deforms... And finally, Christ’s death...

III. RESTORED WHAT SIN DESTROYED

"In Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily and you are complete in Him” (Col. 2:9-10)... Restore means to reinstate, re-establish, or bring back… Sin destroyed our state and standing before God, but the Bible says that, “if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin… (For) If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness…” (1 John 1:7,9)

(John 10:10)… But thank God that He loved us so much that He provided a way for us to restored back to Him… He provided a way for us to recover all that was stolen from us by the enemy… He provided what it took to Remove What Sin Delivered… Renew What Sin Deformed… Restore What Sin Destroyed…

Removal took me out of the plight of the enemy…

Renewal put me in the protection of the Father…

Restoration gave me a the position of fellowship…

And because of my position, I know that

No weapon formed against me…

Greater is He that’s in me…

I am more than a conqueror…
