Summary: Paul the Apostle
Galatians 1 v 1 - 10 Paul the Apostle
His Position - 1 Paul, an apostle,
Acts 1: - NOT By His Direct -
Presence - 21 Wherefore of these men which have companied with us
Persistence - all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us
Preparation - 22 Beginning from the baptism of John,
Participation - unto that same day that he was taken up from us, Proclamation - must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection. For Paul, the qualifications had to be modified.
So he required the direct and visible approval of the other apostles.
BUT By Divine Providence - Acts 9:15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: 16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.
So Paul had to be a Witness of the Resurrection. 1 Cor. 9:l Am I am not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord?
He had to be a Warrior appointed by the Lord Jesus himself -
Gal 1:1 Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ,
and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)
He had to be a Worker of miracles - Acts 2:43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
Acts 19:11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: 12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

The Tragedy -
The Madness - unto another gospel:

The Pursuit - and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
His Proclamation -
The Preachers - 8 But though we,
The Powers - or an angel from heaven,
The Poachers - preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you,
The Payers - let him be accursed. (let them be under God’s curse!)
His Prohibition -
The Word Revealed - 9 As we said before,
The Word Revived - so say I now again,
The Word Reviewed -
if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received,
The Word Revenged - let him be accursed.
His Prosecution -
His Purpose - 10 For do I now persuade men, (to win their approval)
His Prize - or God? (to win His approval)
His Pursuit - or do I seek to please men?
His Peril - for if I yet pleased men,
His Perdition - I should not be the servant of Christ.
