Summary: Illustration
I. In order to gain our identity in Christ we must wait for Jesus to provide it. (vs. 1-2)
A. The three years the disciples spent with Jesus was their boot camp.
B. Jesus worked to strip them of their worldly identity and remake them in His image.
II. In order to gain our identity in Christ we must throw off our identity in the world. (vs. 6-8)
A. Matthew 6:24 “…no man can serve two masters.”
B. We must leave behind the old worldly identity.
III. In order to gain our identity in Christ we must be willing to live it above all else. (v.8b)
A. Will be Christ’s witnesses
B. Witnessing about Him.
C. Paul gave up his identity as a pharisee
