Marriage On The Rock Series

Acccording to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation and another builded thereon, but let every man take heed how he buildeth there upon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid which is Jesus Christ.

INTRODUCTION

Once you see the foundation of any building, you can tell what kind of building it will become.

Any man planning to build an upstairs, introduces pillars and iron rods of various sizes to be able to hold the building.

Again you will find out that the type of sand or gravel you put on your foundation tells or speaks a lot about the size of the building. Some use chippings some gravel and better still some use rocks.

Once a foundation is strong; the building can never witness any crack, it cannot collapse irrespective of storms or trails that may come on it.

In Luke 6:47-48, Jesus tells us the story of two men who went out to build. One built on the sand and quickly finished but the second, dug deep and built his house on the rock. The flood came and took away the one on the sand, but the one on the rock stayed and withstood the storm.

Jesus is the solid rock upon which every marriage that must stand should and must be built.

Today as you have decided to build your marriage on the rock, even Jesus Christ, it will not witness any crack in Jesus Name.

HOW CAN I BUILD MY MARRIAGE IN JESUS CHRIST?

Be wise

Matt 7:24- the wise built his house on the rock.

John 15:5b-without Christ we can do nothing.

Prepare for storms

In marriage just like in life generally, there will always be storms, challenges must come, trials must come, and all we need to do is to be prepared. How? By turning to Jesus. In John 2: the Bible says the wine finished and because the people had invited Jesus into their marriage, they ran to Jesus and him they found the solution to their problem. My prayer for you sir and ma is that every prayer and request you will render to Jesus in this marriage, shall be answered speedily in Jesus Name.

WORK IN AGREEMENT.

Marriage starts with agreement and agreement sustains marriage.

Gen 2:24, Mk 10:7-9- says therefore shall a man leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife and they twain shall become one. Little wonder, when you see couples that have been well married for long, they begin to look like brothers and sisters. They look every inch the same.

Amos 3:3- says Two cannot walk together except they be agreed.

Matt 18:19 says that Anything two of you shall agree upon shall be done for you.

Agreement simply means togetherness, being together all the time in all things. For once Adam left Eve and Satan came calling. My prayer again for you both is that in all things, both of you shall agree in Jesus Name.

RECOGNIZE THE HIERARCHY IN MARRIAGE.

1 Cor. 2:3- The head of every man is Christ and the head of every woman is the man. This tells us that whatever happens from the man; report him to his head which is Christ. Your headship ma, is in your husband, it is not in your friends neither is it in your parents. Children say I will tell daddy for you, I will tell mummy for you. Unfortunately, marriage is not for children. So ma, my prayer for you again, is that as you go into this marriage today, the grace to grow up speedily, the Lord release to you in Jesus Name.

SUBMISSION AND LOVE IS REQUIRED

Eph 5:22- Wives submit yourself unto your own husbands as unto the Lord.

Eph 5:24- Husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church and gave his life for it.

MARRIAGE BRINGS SEPARATION

Marriage brings separation from certain old friends who keep late nights, separation from idle friends who comes to say, what their husbands did, and can or cannot do.

Most importantly, is the separation from parents. Mummy and daddy it is time to now leave your children alone. Allow them to make their own mistakes and correct themselves.

Gen. 2:24- Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother and cleave to his wife.

Mark 10:7-9. - What God has joined together let no man put asunder. Allow them to make their own mistakes and learn

FINALLY ALWAYS REMEMBER THE FINAL MARRIAGE.

Every marriage on earth is just a typology of the marriage that will soon take place. It is a marriage that will bring everyone in Christ both dead and alive unto a wedding with Christ the solid rock.

Anyone who misses this marriage will goes to hell. It is called the marriage supper of the Lamb. Rev 19:9- Blessed are those that are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb. 1 Thess.4:16-17- The dead in Christ will rise to this marriage and the only qualification is to be born again, according to John 3:3- Except a man be born again
