LORD JESUS, MAKE ME WHOLE!

“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.” Genesis 2:7.

In the beginning, God created a physical body from the earth and then breathed His Spirit into it. The Spirit gave life to the body, and man became a living soul.

Hence, humans have a spiritual nature with a soul within a physical body. The Almighty God made Adam and Eve as perfect, complete or ‘whole’ beings. Each part were joined in a marvellous way that has a lot of small parts that are arranged in a complicated or delicate way. It was a masterpiece,

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:10.

Just as the body itself is a whole unit made up of many parts, "For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ." 1 Corinthians 12:12, we are created to function as a complete and wholesome unit. We are a spirit who has a soul that lives in a body.

The Bible also tells us that God created man in His image – in the likeness of God and his Son. Genesis 1:26. In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve were created without spot or blemish. They were perfect, complete and whole before the fall. They were the perfect epitome of wholeness.

But, when Adam and Eve sinned, the perfect design of man was destroyed. Man became marred. What was once a perfect and wholesome spirit, soul, body became defective and imperfect.

Once a person accepts the Lord Jesus into his or her heart, he is rescued or delivered from the power of sin and eternal separation from God. This is called Salvation.

But, salvation is just the first step toward regaining our complete wholeness. There's still much work to be done in order to attain restoration and perfection.

As we hunger, thirst and surrender more and more to the Spirit of God, He can work accordingly in our lives. Sanctification is a process. We become transformed or renewed, day by day, into the likeness of Jesus.

"But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord." 2 Corinthians 3:18.

Restoration is a part of the sanctification process. It's God's will for us to be whole. Wholeness is a gift of God, and free of cost to any who would ask.

GRATITUDE and WHOLENESS

"11 And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. 12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: 13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. 14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. 15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. 17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? 18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. 19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole." Luke 17:11-19.

Ten men cried out to Jesus for Mercy. These ten men were afflicted by leprosy, a horrible disease that effectively made them to be outcasts. This disease turned their hair white, with sores and swellings all over the body. Leprosy caused the body to deteriorate from the outside. In addition to the physical damages it does to the body, lepers were also emotional wounded and rejected. They were to leave their outer garment torn as a sign of mourning, and to call out constantly as they walk “unclean, unclean!” The life of a leper was a lonely and depressing one.

One day, these ten lepers heard that the Messiah was passing by and perhaps they had heard He could cure all manners of sickness and diseases. They cried out for Mercy. Jesus heard them. They received healing from the leprosy. Sadly, only one came back to appreciate. And. only he was restored and transformed.

It's not enough to ask for healing and deliverance, we must seek, hunger and thirst for restoration and wholeness.
