Summary: Jesus used the parable of the vine and vineyard to illustrate the believer's relationship with Christ.
It is important that we understand the meaning of True Vine, because there are false vines existing in the world today. People have made substitutes to God, which in their sight might seem to have life in them, but in the actual sense when there false vines.
Jesus illustrates in the scripture that is the only True Vine, and we the believers are the branches and God is the pruner or gardener. The fruitful branches are the believers who glorify God by yielding the features of the Holy spirit, among which include living a righteous life, goodness, faithfulness, patience and among others. Unfruitful branches are the believers that do not bear fruits of the Holy Spirit.
In the Scripture, the fruitful branches are pruned to continue bearing good fruits, whereas the unfruitful are cut off and thrown in fear. But very important to understand, branches ( believers) can not bear fruit unless their in the Vine ( Jesus), and this possible when believers treasure God's word in their hearts and minds.
The reward of remaining in Christ or a binding in Christ is Eternal life, and the consequence of living out of Christ is eternal separation from Him.
You can can choose today to a bide in Christ, by accepting Him to become your personal Savior to start living a new life in Him.
