John 10:10, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."
In a world filled with darkness, despair, and death, Jesus Christ stands out as the Life-Giver. He is the one who brings light, hope, and eternal life to all who put their trust in Him. Today, we will explore the biblical truth of Jesus as the Life-Giver and how this truth can transform our lives.
The Thief Comes to Steal, Kill, and Destroy
In John 10:10, Jesus contrasts Himself with the thief, who comes to steal, kill, and destroy. The thief represents Satan, who seeks to destroy God's creation and lead people away from the truth. Satan's ultimate goal is to steal our life, kill our spirit, and destroy our relationship with God.
Jesus Comes to Give Life
But Jesus comes to give life, and not just any life, but life to the full. Jesus is the Life-Giver, and He offers us a life that is abundant, joyful, and eternal. This life is not limited to our physical existence but extends to our spiritual and emotional well-being.
The Life Jesus Gives
The life Jesus gives is characterized by the following:
- Eternal Life: Jesus gives us eternal life, which begins the moment we put our faith in Him. This life is not limited by time or circumstances but is eternal and secure. (John 3:16)
- Abundant Life: Jesus promises us an abundant life, which is filled with joy, peace, and purpose. This life is not limited by our circumstances but is abundant and overflowing. (John 10:10)
- Transformed Life: Jesus gives us a transformed life, which is characterized by a new heart, a new mind, and a new spirit. This life is not limited by our old nature but is transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Receiving the Life Jesus Gives
To receive the life Jesus gives, we must:
- Put Our Faith in Him: We must put our faith in Jesus Christ, trusting Him as our Lord and Savior. (John 3:16)
- Follow Him: We must follow Jesus, obeying His teachings and commands. (John 10:27)
- Abide in Him: We must abide in Jesus, living in a personal relationship with Him. (John 15:4)

This verse emphasizes that Jesus is the source of life, and that life is the light that shines in the darkness.
John 10:10- "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly."
