Grow In Grace And In The Knowledge Of Our Lord And Saviour Jesus Christ Series

The Lord wants every Believer to grow. Growing is important in the Christian life.

To know what is right and wrong and to know what is of God and of the devil needs spiritual growth.

Some grows fast and some takes many years to grow and some never grows.

Ways to grow in the Lord?

1. Desire to grow - 1 Peter 2:2

If desire is not in us we will never grow. Growth is a personal choice.

2. Decide to grow - Colossians 3:16

Let means you decided

Is it possible to be in church always and not growing? Yes its very possible for the following verses

@ Dull of hearing - Hebrews 5:12-14

@ Carnality - Romans 8:5-8

@ Sin filled life - James 1:14-16,21

3. Determine to grow. Consistent to know more. Acts 17:11

How do you know you are growing.

1. When you can declare the gospel - v.15 wisdom is given.

Wisdom means the soundness of an action or decision with regard to the application of experience, knowledge, and good judgment.

@ You can declare the gospel by sharing to others. Romans 1:16

@ You can declare the gospel by your testimonies. Matthew 5:16

@ You can declare the gospel by giving tracts.

2. When you can decide for the gospel. v. 16 "understood"

A person who understand can stand for his own.

A person who always resist His words will have their own destruction. Never despised the Word of God.

Despised means strong disliked, hatred, unlikely emotional response.

Always come to agree the word of God being preach.

That's why always says amen. The use of "amen" has been generally adopted in Christian worship as a concluding word for prayers and hymns and an expression of strong agreement.

3. When you can defend the gospel. v.17

"Led away from the error."

Our life in Christ is not complicated. It is a simple life if only we learn about Jesus. John 5:39

Ephesians 4:14 no more children.

Let us take seriously our Christian growth.

Application :

1. Growing will influence others and specially our family.

2. Knowing the Lord will make you to like Him, Love Him and Labor for Him.

3. Just a little error will do great damage. A little leaven will leaveneth a whole lump. Be always aware of any wrong in whatever we do.
