Summary: Christmas – is a religious Holiday once a year, Dec 25, whereas ChristMust – is a daily surrendering of life to Jesus Christ.

From ChristMAS to ChristMUST

Christmas – is a religious Holiday once a year, Dec 25, whereas ChristMust – is a daily surrendering of life to Jesus Christ.

We Christian believers need to celebrate Christ, not the Holiday, not Dec 25, not the blessings, not even the family but our Lord Jesus Christ Himself

Jesus indeed is the Reason of the Season not any symbols of Christmas nor any person.

By origin, the Bible has no mentioned of Christmas, but "The Birth of Christ" and "Christ Born of Mary"

“Well, for the first 200 years of Christian history, we don’t find Christians doing anything special about Christ’s birthday. That innovation came in the third and fourth centuries after Christ. “

By History it’s is a pagan tradition or belief

Pagan – “a person holding religious beliefs other than those of the main world religions.” Says google.

Normally idolaters because they worship multiple deities. In other words, they worship a lot gods

(gods and goddesses); polytheistic

They can invent and reinvent gods of their own.

and they line Jesus in it. But Jesus of the Bible is not a pagan god, He is God.

“The real meaning of Christmas is sun worship; a reminder to all life on Earth that we owe everything to the Sun.” (source: http://www.humanreligions.info/christmas.html#General)

Mithraism

“Roman mystery religion that believed that the Son of the Sun was a saviour who was sacrificed for the good of all”

They promoted sun worship as early as 400 BC.

They introduced the Mother-and-Son Worship, where every son's birthday fell in December 25, (wow! what a coincedence).

That's how they introduced Mary and Jesus

another example: Nimrod - Father, Semiramis - Mother, their son is Tammuz

Nimrod – Gen 10:8-12 ”first on earth to be a Mighty man.”

Semiramis – wife of Nimrod

When Nimrod died, Semiramis claimed Nimrod resurrected by sun-god and conceived her a son , she named it Tammuz (Ezekiel 8:12-14)

Remember These 3 Important things about CHRIST-MUST

1. We have celebration because the Son Jesus has come.

Luke 2:11

11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

We celebrate not the date of Christ coming.

But we celebrate who has come – Jesus Christ our Savior, Jesus of the Bible

Date does not matter, we celebrate Jesus every Worship service…

In our Hopeless case, Hope is given, Life is given, Celebration is given.

Jesus fulfills the way of God’s salvation.

We never promote materialism (through gifts), but generous giving and thanksgiving…

2. We never worship the symbols of Christmas.

Jeremiah 10:2-5

2 Thus says the Lord:

“Do not learn the way of the Gentiles;

Do not be dismayed at the signs of heaven,

For the Gentiles are dismayed at them.

3 For the customs of the peoples are [a]futile;

For one cuts a tree from the forest,

The work of the hands of the workman, with the ax.

4 They decorate it with silver and gold;

They fasten it with nails and hammers So that it will not topple.

5 They are upright, like a palm tree,

And they cannot speak; They must be carried,

Because they cannot go by themselves.

Do not be afraid of them, For they cannot do evil,

Nor can they do any good.”

We never worship or give high regards to any symbols of Christmas, extravagant decorations, Santa Clause, commercialism, buying here and there.

We must be focus on the SON Jesus.

3. Only Jesus is given for our Salvation

Acts 4:12

12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

CONNECT:

It is only about Jesus coming, one day he has come to serve the Will of the Father.

it's not about the new clothes we buy, toys we buy for our children

it's not about the gifts we receive or we give

it's not about the many parties we do or attend to...

just to say that the Holiday is joyous and well celebrated, but it is only about JESUS has come to bring our SALVATION in obedience to the Father.
